I decided to become a Co-op owner when Basics became my go-to place to purchase quality organic produce and other specialty items. The staff is friendly and I like the ‘personalized’ touch they offer when I come in. I also appreciate the variety of classes offered and the special discount days.

A few of my favorite items to find at Basics in addition to the produce, are the fresh ground nut butter, local honey, frozen organic wild blueberries and the deli items!

One of my favorite recipes is this quick and easy, refined sugar free, raspberry dessert. By using frozen berries, this can be a special treat even when not in season. This is just the basics - add ingredients to your taste.


Easy Raspberry Dessert

  • Fresh or Frozen (thawed) Raspberries

  • Whipping Cream

  • Lemon Juice

  • Lemon Zest

  • Cacao Nibs

Whip cream with an electric mixer or shake vigorously with lidded jar. Lightly stir in lemon juice and lemon zest to raspberries. Spoon raspberry mixture over whipped cream. Sprinkle cacao nibs on top and enjoy!
