from 12.00

Building for Resilience

10am-12pm March 16 in the Basics Community Room

Co-op Owners $12; Non-Owners $15 (or register for the entire series before Jan. 10 to get 10% off!)

Uncertainty is nothing new for humans, but our survival depends on being ready for change. This class will explore what it means to build a strong yet flexible home and self that are prepared for both abundance and scarcity. Students will create resiliency maps for their landscape and their social circle, as well as learning more about mutual aid and climate change.

Hawthorn McCracken is a horticulturalist and herbalist who is passionate about social justice and responsible earth ethics. In their series, Cultivating Connection: Healing the Self & the Earth through Holistic Land Care, students will learn about holistic land care concepts as they work on their own custom landscape and lifestyle plan.

Feel free to bring photos, maps, and soil samples from your site, and come ready to dig deep into personal values.

Hawthorn holds certificates in Native Plants, Greenhouse Growing, and Permaculture and believes that every plant and person has something to teach us. Hawthorn owns The Hedgerow, a landscaping and consulting business in Rock County. Meet Hawthorn on Super Tuesdays at Basics December 4th & January 8th.
