Belaire: Port Salut

Trappist monks in the French coastal province of Brittany created the original Port Salut variety in the early 19th century. Today, master cheesemakers are crafting Belaire Port Salut-style cheese from rich, pure Guernsey milk that comes exclusively from the Hoard’s Dairyman Farm. With its creamy, subtle flavor and soft texture this is an ideal cheese for any occasion.

W.D. Hoard

Since the 1870’s, W.D. Hoard was educating farmers about converting to dairy and implementing better farming practices. To this day, Hoard’s Dairyman magazine helps producers serve Americans the highest quality dairy products.

Hoard’s Dairyman Farm operates in Fort Atkinson, just minutes away from where its namesake is published and the family trees of most of the Guernsey cows there reach back to W.D. Hoard’s original herd.
