Co-op Reciprocity — many other co-ops offer benefits to thank you for supporting the cooperative economy (please note every co-op is independently owned, so reciprocity benefits vary)
Patronage Refunds - share in the store’s profits! If the Board declares patronage refunds (dividends), you will receive a portion of the Co-op’s profits based on the amount you shopped at Basics that year.

After the $150 is paid, plus any service fees, you are FULLY VESTED - there are no more payments but all the benefits continue forever!*
Join at the service desk to activate your benefits immediately. You may also join online or download the Basics Ownership form to print and mail to us with a check.
Applications received online or by mail may take up to 48 hours to process after we have received your application and payment.

Members of low-income benefit programs such as SNAP may be eligible to join the co-op for just $15! Click here to learn about our Access Discount Program.
-If you choose to make $30 payments for 5 years, Basics will charge a $5 service fee for each subsequent annual payment to help defray the administrative costs.
-Corporate memberships and Access Program memberships must be activated at the service desk.
-If you decide you do not want to be an Owner anymore, the Co-op will refund your Ownership investment (subject to some limitations in Bylaws).
-Co-op Owner discounts apply to regular-priced items and do not apply to the cafe, local consignment items, or alcohol.

Basics is proud to invite the members of other food co-ops to save 10% on most regular-priced items STOREWIDE during our 6 annual Co-op Owner Appreciation weekends! Many co-ops offer benefits to those who have invested in food co-ops elsewhere, to reward them for choosing cooperatives wherever they shop. Please note that every co-op is financially independent, so investing in Ownership at one co-op does not directly benefit another. Because of this, reciprocity benefits vary, and not all co-ops offer them.
