Northstar Bison
Grass Fed Quality
Cameron, WI — Lee and Mary Graese grew up on family farms but, after marriage, weren’t itching to jump back into full-time farming. They did, however, love the idea of raising their kids surrounded by wide-open country and ranch life. With backgrounds in nutrition, wellness, and fitness — plus a shared passion for real, healthy food — a ranch just made sense.
In 1994 they bought two bison as a weekend hobby…and Northstar Bison was born. What started as a small, joyful experiment quickly caught on. The Graeses moved to a bigger farm, teamed up with fellow farmers who shared their values, and turned their hobby into a thriving family business. Over the years, Northstar has become a genuine family affair, full of hard work, laughter, and a whole lot of bison love.
Why bison? It’s lean, lower in calories and fat than many other meats, and packed with protein plus B vitamins, iron, selenium, and zinc — all the good stuff for healthy, flavorful meals.
Why Northstar?
Northstar Bison are pasture-raised, with the herd rotated every few days. They do not use growth hormones or antibiotics. Grazing land is not treated with herbicides or chemical fertilizers - they rely on the animals to redistribute seed and fertilize. Even the harvest is peaceful.
