What is Manuka Honey?

Manuka honey is produced when bees feed off of the nectar of the Manuka tree, a relative of the Tea tree that is native to New Zealand.

While all honey has antibacterial properties, the healing benefits of Manuka are known to be especially powerful due to its high concentration of methylglyoxal (MG or MGO), an antibacterial and antiviral compound.

Wedderspoon’s Manuka honey is sourced from New Zealand’s north and south islands. They use a raw, unpasteurized creaming process to preserve the beneficial properties. It is also non-GMO, free of glyphosate or pesticides, and can be traced back to the beekeeper who harvested it!
