7/23, Hemp-Derived CBD: Just the Facts

What's the deal with CBD? Cannabidiol (CBD) is a hemp-derived nutrient that has been receiving a lot of attention for its benefits in health and well-being. It's likely that you've heard from someone who is using it to control their stress or pain. Despite its popularity, there is a lot of confusion about this complex dietary ingredient. Let's break the facts down together.

Join us in this informative lecture with our National Educator, Maggie Frank, as she discusses CBD's interaction with the endocannabinoid system, how CBD was discovered, and much more!

6-7:30pm Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in the Basics Community Room

Basics and JUFA are proud to co-sponsor a series of three lectures directly from Janesville’s urban forest. Each of these lectures will be presented by tree care professionals and volunteers who have dedicated themselves to promoting the welfare of Janesville’s urban forest by providing public outreach and educational opportunities about tree maintenance, planting and care.

For nearly 20 years JUFA (formerly known as the Janesville Shade Tree Advisory Committee or JSTAC) has survived on grants and donations. Members have given freely of their time, money and expertise to donate and plant trees and in conjunction with the City of Janesville to care for the fragile environment that is our urban forest.

This month, we will be discussing Proper Pruning & Regular Shade Tree Maintenance

This event is free but we do ask that you register in advance.
