What are aronia berries?

Aronia berries, aka chokeberries, are one of the richest sources of plant antioxidants. Containing minimal calories, these nutrient-dense dark berries are high in fiber, Vitamin C, and manganese. These berries can be eaten fresh or juiced. They can also be used in baked goods, wine, tea, juice and jam. Their flavor is astringent, sour, and semi-sweet, falling somewhere between a fresh cranberry and a blueberry.
