The story starts with co-founder Alex Malinsky, who discovered the power of food during his battle with asthma as a teen. That aha moment sparked a lifelong passion for wellness, raw foods, and entrepreneurship. In 2003, Alex launched an e-commerce site offering top-tier superfoods and tools—but noticed one thing missing: raw chocolate. So he set out to create it.
Enter Uncle Mike, who brought heart and investment after his own health journey. Together, they built a full-scale production facility—a real-life superfood chocolate factory! Today, Alex (now CEO) and Mike continue to lead Windy City Organics with purpose, passion, and a whole lot of cacao love.

Windy City works directly with organic, fairly traded cacao suppliers in native Peruvian communities—creating nutrient-rich products that nourish consumers while uplifting local economies and lifestyles through sustainable partnerships.
