Teddy’s Tallow Chips
Teddy’s Tallow Chips began as a small family experiment in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, long before it became a brand.
When Teddy Horvath was a kid dealing with tough food sensitivities, his mom, Katherine, spent years trying to recreate simple snacks he could enjoy safely. On a whim — and with a nudge from her grandmother’s old cooking wisdom — she fried potatoes in beef tallow instead of seed oils. The result was a crisp, rich chip that didn’t trigger Teddy’s symptoms, and it quickly became a staple in their home.
As Teddy grew older, he noticed a growing interest in traditional fats and clean‑ingredient foods, and he realized their homemade solution had real potential! He and Katherine refined the recipe, designed packaging, and began sharing their chips with local shops.
What started as a personal workaround for one family has since grown into a beloved small‑batch snack brand, built on simple ingredients, old‑school cooking methods, and a mission that still feels deeply personal.
