SNAP & Food Access

SNAP and other government assistance programs may remain temporarily inaccessible or reduced this month.

For those who rely on these programs to access groceries, we know that even a short disruption can mean difficult choices about food, bills, and other essentials. We realize this affects not only our shoppers but also some of our staff. Food insecurity is a shared reality across our communities.

For our Basics Co-op Owners who are low-income Access Program participants, the daily Access Discount on most regular-priced items at Basics has been temporarily increased from 10% off to 25% off for the rest of November.

Co-op staff experiencing hardship are always encouraged to speak with management for extra support, and especially during this time of uncertainty.

Local Spotlight

Sip, Sip, Hooray!

To make your Thanksgiving meal planning a bit easier, here are our recommendations for wines that pair well with a turkey dinner:

Chatxo Rioja (Red) Sustainably farmed in one of Spain's greatest wine terroirs. Fruit forward, smooth, and bright finish. Grown from tempranillo grapes.

Bodegues Sumarroca "Tuvi or not to be" (White) Fresh aromas of floral blossoms and green pear. Fruity notes of citrus and melon. This vineyard operates sustainably under the Certification of Ecological Vineyards and uses organically certified grapes.

Zero Relax Chardonnay (Non-Alcoholic) We also have your bases covered if you have guests who do not wish to imbibe during the holidays! Chardonnays are a great option for Thanksgiving meals, pairing well with many elements of the dinner. This non-alcoholic version is lightly oaked with notes of apple and pear.

We card! Please be prepared to show ID when you purchase alcohol at Basics.
