*After more than a decade at $2, we finally needed to raise the Basics Smoothie of the Month price. The good news is, it’s still just $1.50 on Super Tuesdays and only $3 the rest of the month! As always, every recipe is made with natural and organic ingredients per the co-op’s high-quality ingredient standards.

Hit the Trail (Mix)

10% of Hit the Trail Mix proceeds over the next year will be donated to the Rock County chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance!

Hit the Trail Mix

Fuel your fall hikes with this all-natural mix of raisins, roasted peanuts, tamari almonds, tamari sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and cashews. 10% of proceeds will be donated to the Ice Age Trail in Rock County.

The Ice Age Trail is a 1,200‑mile footpath that winds across Wisconsin, tracing the path carved by glaciers during the last Ice Age. It’s a mix of forests, prairies, small towns, and stunning geological features that lets hikers literally walk along ancient history.

The Rock County portion of the Ice Age Trail winds through Milton, Janesville, Evansville, and several natural areas, showcasing prairie, hardwood forest, glacial kettles, and lakes. Highlights include Storrs Lake, Gibbs Lake, Magnolia Bluff, and the dramatic Devil’s Staircase, where the trail climbs a century‑old stone stairway along the Rock River.

Hit the Trail Mix

Basics has been a proud Ice Age Trail supporter for many years. Now, you can support the trail every time you stock up on our new Hit the Trail Mix! Find it in Bulk — scoop as much or as little as you want. It’s a sweet-and-salty trail mix with raisins for sweetness and tamari-coated almonds and sunflower seeds for savory flavor.

For Alliance info and tons of hiker resources, visit www.iceagetrail.org. Or, consider volunteering with our local chapter. You’ll find the Rock County Chapter Coordinator, Dennis, sharing resources at Basics during many of our Super Tuesday Sales.

Nix the boring latte.

Tired of the same-old flavor lineup? Take your latte to the next level with added flavors that actually function! Check out the BOOSTS menu at basicscoopcafe.com.

Sip, Sip, Hooray! Pizza Nights

September brings cooler nights—perfect for firing up the oven and a comforting pizza. Try Pizza Nights by Field Recordings, a light-bodied Gamay with juicy red fruit. Its acidity balances pizza sauce, and its gentle tannins won’t overpower the pie. Pair it with your favorite pizza—our pick: Salvatore’s Tomato Pies (aisle 10).

Also available: Field Recordings Salad Days (white) and Super Gnario (red blend).
